I head up a team of water resource (civil / environmental ) engineers, planners and office associates in the Illinois Department of Natural Resources' Office of Water Resources. I oversee all floodplain management, Capital Programs, dam safety, Lake Michigan Water Allocation, NFIP, and Flood Hazard Mitigation Program activities in Illinois through great staff located in Springfield, Bartlett, Chicago and several field sites in Illinois. Also involved in flood response and monitoring for the state of Illinois.

I have been in several stage productions in community theater, served as president of the Springfield theater Board of Directors, and assistant directed.

Became Director of the Illinois Office of Water Resources January 1, 2018.

Served as Past-President/Director of the Illinois Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management (IAFSM).

Served as President of the Illinois Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers

Spare time?

Run kids to music, band, soccer, basketball, pool, etc.

Acting, bicycling, trumpet playing, traveling and hanging out with my wife and kids.

Only when I get back to Ames and run into classmates.

Traveled in several countries, most states and practically every community in Illinois.

My mom is lstill in Ames so I get back to Ames a few times a year.
