Wendy Tigges Young

I am a Care Coordinator (Nurse Navigator). I work with breast cancer patients. I work at Unitypoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I have been a nurse here for 27 years.

Have been married for 31 years. Spent our first year in Corpus Christi, TX. Have been in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the last 30. I worked as an OR nurse for roughly 22 years, although I did take some time off to be a stay-at-home mom. I did a lot of volunteering at the schools and as a school foundation board member. Have been in my current position about 5 years. We have traveled abroad some and plan to do more! Now living in San Antonio, Texas.

I am vice presdent of a local non-profit that supports cancer patients and their families(meetings, fund raisers, workshops etc.). We enjoy tailgating at ISU football games. We are having fun being empty nesters, visiting our daughters/families, going to the cabin in Minnesota and traveling.

Running at Drake stadium for state track and Drake relays. Cheerleading.

Have been to Greece, France, Belgium and Italy. Am hoping to travel more! Brugge/Bruges Belgium is a must see. Can't wait to go back!

We get to Ames often as my youngest daughter lives there. My folks, younger sister and my younger brother are all still in Ames. We enjoy tailgating at ISU football games.

Travel with family and friends. Grandchildren! Retirement.
