I Retired as Director of the Illinois DNR, Office of Water Resources at the end of 2024 after 40-years with the Office and serving 7-years as its director. I continue to represent the Governor of Illinois on the Great Lakes Commission and as Chair of the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors and Premiers Regional Body and Compact Council which allows me to visit some really awesome places in the Great Lakes watershed (and Washington DC as well.)

I have been in several stage productions in community theater, served as president of the Springfield theater Board of Directors, and assistant directed.

Became Director of the Illinois Office of Water Resources January 1, 2018.

Served as Past-President/Director of the Illinois Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management (IAFSM).

Served as President of the Illinois Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers

Spare time?

Run kids to music, band, soccer, basketball, pool, etc.

Acting, bicycling, trumpet playing, traveling and hanging out with my wife and kids.

Only when I get back to Ames and run into classmates.

Traveled in several countries, most states and practically every community in Illinois.

Usually once or twice a year for Hickory Park when visiting our daughter in Des Moines. One widowed sister-in-law remains in Ames.
